Valerio's grandfather set things up after the Second World War with just three hectares.
Valerio's father, Franco, kept it in the family before handing over the winemaking to his son while continuing to look after the farming of vineyards now stretching to around twelve hectares. The Mondo family still live next to their vines, in the town of San Marzano Oliveto.
But back to this Barbera d'Asti. Total dynamite. Take our word for it.
